Isaac Gibbs leads LSW’s Automotive Division, bringing over 15 years of specialised legal expertise across both private practice and senior in-house counsel roles. Recognised in the Legal 500 GC Powerlist (Australia) for 2023 and 2024, Isaac is one of Australia’s most highly regarded legal advisers in the automotive sector.
Isaac began his career at Allens Arthur Robinson before assisting Clyde & Co with its entry into the Australian legal market. His passion for the automotive industry was cemented during his time as General Counsel & Company Secretary at Kia Motors Australia, where he advised on all major areas of automotive operations including dealer agreements, franchising, consumer law, employment, privacy, marketing and financial services.
He later joined Audi Australia as General Counsel & Company Secretary, and went on to oversee the legal and operational merger of Audi Australia and Volkswagen Group Australia in 2022. Most recently, Isaac served as General Counsel & Company Secretary of Volkswagen Group Australia, supporting brands including Volkswagen, Audi, ŠKODA and CUPRA, and leading the VW Group Asia Pacific Privacy Hub.
With extensive experience spanning commercial contracts, competition and consumer law, franchising, advertising, dispute resolution, corporate governance and regulatory compliance, Isaac offers clients both technical expertise and a pragmatic commercial approach.
